Further Process on Issue One

| June 30, 2010

We at Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders are quite pleased to announce that we’ve already lined up a few writers for Issue One. We are very excited about the fine fellow Steampunks we have lined up — stellar writers all of them, people that we are very grateful for their creativity and intelligence in allowing us to publish their words.

There is yet more space to fill in Issue One, however, so do feel free to send us whichever scholarship, short fiction, poetry, or what-have-you that you wish us to publish.

Also, do sign up for our mailing list. We intend to send out Issue One as an email newsletter as well as publication here on our Aetheric home, but we want to have a good wide spread of subscribers. You will not be disappointed.

Yours in Gears and Cogs,

Doctor Fantastique

Issue One Update

| June 17, 2010

After further review of the timeframe and our current technical capabilities, we have decided to push back the first issue launch of Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders to mid-August instead of mid-July. We wish to allow for more Steampunk creatives to find out about us and decide whether or not to submit their work for our perusal, but also we realized there is a need for certain technological figurings to be taken care of before we can launch our steamship into the Aether.

It bears repeating that we at Doctor Fantastique’s will consider everything Steampunk focused that alchemists of creativity wish to aether-mail to us. Contact us at doctorfantastiques@gmail.com or via the form link in the left sidebar. We welcome questions, concerns, or offers of assistance.

Yours in Gears and Cogs,

Doctor Fantastique

Open to Submissions

| June 16, 2010

Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders is actively looking for submissions to our launch issue, which we are hoping will go in mid-July. Stories, poems, scholarship, reviews, etc — if you’ve written it, then we at Doctor Fantastique’s want to see it.

Send it along as an attachment to doctorfantastiques@gmail.com and we will take a look, but do make sure to check our submission guidelines first.

Yours in Gears and Cogs,

Doctor Fantastique

Dashing bowler hate, great long brown sleeveless jacket, but the giant scissors are inexplicably the most awesome thing.

I love it so much when things are functional.

Not dead! Massive set of guest wallpapers to tide you over.

| June 3, 2010

Hey all!

No, I’m not dead, I’ve just been very, very busy. For one, I’ve been running a tabletop RPG for 10 people (ye gods, I must be mad) that has taken up a lot of my free time. Yes, of course there are airships in it. It’s a reality-bending modern game set in Oklahoma. You can find the website for it here if you want to poke about. The website isn’t Steampunk, but some of the puzzles hidden on it are.

I hope to be back to making wallpapers soon! In the meantime, here’s a fairly large set of guest wallpapers that have been building up over the last two months.

NOTE: if you submitted one of these, and you have additional info about them, please let me know! I didn’t get a lot of info with all of them. :D

First up, five wallpapers from http://www.escapetheclouds.com/

All are 1920×1080, but they’ve got other versions at the link above.

Second, a bit of propaganda from the webcomic Clockworks. Start at the beginning here if you want the whole story.
Third, a piece called Fumo Fenestra (Steam Windows in Latin) from 3d artist X at BattleaxeGFX. X, I didn’t get a name for you, so let me know who the heck you are! :D

EDIT: X is artist rattle! Thanks for the awesome wallpaper, rattle!

User Stramp has some lovely sub papers at WinCustomize. In fact, there’s a whole subset at WinCustomize for Steampunk, including widgets and icons as well as wallpapers.
And last but not least is this piece from http://www.darkartistry.com. It was submitted, but I didn’t get any artist’s info out of it, sadly.
